Vanished from Dust Shea Norwood Books
The moment I read the book description, I knew that I had to get “Vanished from Dust”. I’ve always liked the idea of small towns that hide dark secrets and terrible past events, so I had to know what was with the mysterious death of hundreds of townspeople in 1922. I have to admit that the author didn’t disappoint me in the least. Of course, I don’t intend to spoil the mystery for you, so you’ll have to read the book to find out what happened in Dust, Texas, the town Eric and his best friend, Kyle, are from. The novel begins with quite a powerful scene: Eric is bullied by his classmates because he said that he can see phantoms. Everyone thinks he is crazy, so what they do is beat him, insult him, and call him names. The only one who stands up for Eric is Kyle, who is the new kid in town. I’ve always liked young adult novels that prove to be more than just fun and entertaining. “Vanished from Dust” touches on the problematic matter of bullying, and it portrays it in a very realistic way. Then, the author emphasizes the strong friendship between Eric and Kyle, and how much it means to them.
I loved that the characters were very well developed, likeable, and believable. This adds a lot to the story, which is also filled with mystery, suspense, and unexpected twists. All these elements kept me glued to the pages, and I managed to read the novel in two sittings. I would recommend it to readers of all ages, even if the description says it is a paranormal novel for young adults.

Vanished from Dust Shea Norwood Books Reviews
This book did keep me intrigued. Kyle and Eric are your normal high school boys sneaking out and having fun. But Eric he can see things? Kyle doesn't care he's friends with him anyway. The boys are just having another night out and then something strange happens, what is it, I don't want to ruin the book for anyone but it will make you want to know how everything ends.
This read takes me back to the days of my own mischief in the small town I am from and of the great young adult novels and stories I read as an early teen. Being from Dust, TX myself I enjoyed being enveloped in an adventure in familiar territory. Great twists and realistic feelings, Norwood should treat us to a sequel and keep 'em comin!!

I enjoyed this book very much, and would recommend it for teens on up. Loved the idea which led to the teens adventure. Was left up in the air at the end, but it leaves me to hope that the author takes us on more adventures with these two.
Great book, read in 2 days! I was very disappointed in the ending until I came on here and seen there is to be a book 2 pretty soon. Can't wait till it comes out! Very good book that kept me on the edge of my seat.
“Vanished from Dust” by Author Shea Norwood is brilliantly written in a gripping nail biting fashion that is filled with twists and turns. Death, Murder, Mystery and Intrigue set the backbone of the wild tale that will enthrall the senses. In short I could not put this book down. From the very start of this book you will be taken deep into the world of Shea Norwood. There you will meet main characters Kyle Barrett and Eric Stark. Small town Texas takes center stage where the quest for survival becomes a sudden way of life.
In closing, I loved “Vanished from Dust” by Shea Norwood. The way the characters are developed, the faced passed writing-style, the mystery and the wild twists had me engaged for two nights on end. This is a great summer read that I thoroughly enjoyed. 5 Stars and Highly Recommended.
Strange as it may seem, I identified with the lead character of this book as I, too, have seen "strange things" since I was very young. Thank goodness (unlike the poor lad of the story) I had the presence of mind to keep these sightings to myself until I was much older or else I would probably have been ostracized and abused by my peers just like he was.
That having been said, I found the plotline of the story quite intriguing. I don't believe I've ever read any other story with a similar line. The influences of the paranormal and almost a sci-fi feel make it interesting and the main theme of the friendship of the two boys weaving throughout was endearing. The two exhibit characteristics admirable in anyone -- more so in ones so young Braveness, supportiveness, inquisitiveness and genuine human empathy made for extremely likable heroes.
The timing of the events of the story was spot on -- starting out at a leisurely pace and then building faster and faster to the last few chapters where the quickening pace and suspense combined into a dizzying combination.
This is a book slated for teens or young adults but I found it quite readable, as well. I would recommend it to anyone interested in mysteries or paranormal-related books.
"Vanished from Dust" was a great read. The storyline was suspenseful and well-thought; it simply "tickles" your imagination, determining you to wonder what is really happening. The mystery factor was definitely well-played upon, as the author portrayed a town whose inhabitants are suffering, although nobody can identify the cause (nobody except Eric, that is).
For me, relationships between characters have always been just as important as how the storyline unfolds. In this respect, the friendship between Eric and Kyle was a winner. Shea Norwood offered a picture of the average teen feeling isolated, excluded; being the weird one, almost invisible, misunderstood and marginalized. Of course, in this novel the cause is paranormal (Eric sees phantoms, but no one believes him), but the way in which a slice of everyday teen life has been reflected in the narrative made me appreciate this novel all the more.
Overall, an entertaining read, full of suspense and mystery, which also teaches the readers a thing or two about friendship and its importance.
