I was pleasantly surprised by the book. I am MUCH older than the target demographic and would not have picked it up on my own, but I found it to be engaging and well worth a read.

I do agree that his skills seemed to click into place rather quickly--but I suppose it can be argued that the stress of the situations aided in that. I did find Seefer to be engaging and believable and I was interested to see how his story unfolded. The elements one expects: red herrings, loyal friends, revelations of unknown powers, didn't seem either rote or cliched. The purposeful non-use of swearing had a certain twee factor, but I can understand why the author employs it and it didn't get too annoying.

So, in brief, the story was interesting, the characters engaging and I found myself caught-up and happy for the ride.

I notice that this will be yet ANOTHER series, I wonder if publishers will even consider a one-off book anymore?

Book series are quite common nowadays and I can understand why (money). In the mix of this surge, there have been some very vanilla stories to come about. When I saw Seefer Elliot advertised as a new adventure series, I was like “oh boy, here we go again.” After reading The World Aside Ours, I was pleasantly surprised. Seefer is a very relatable character. He lives in a world much like yours or mine. The things that happen to him and the people around him are not quite normal, but Seefer stays grounded throughout, often quipping jokes to how ludicrous the happenings are. In the end, I really enjoyed the book. It is funny, suspenseful and had me wanting more.
I'm really bad at reviews but I must say this was a great book! It was very well written and captivated me. I read it all in one sitting!
Exciting from start to finish. A wonderfully easy to read book that keeps you turning the pages. Don't miss this one.
it is a good book. it could use some more detail to make it more interesting to kids that like books like this.
I loved when the first gloke exploded. I can't imagine the smell. It must've smelled like hot garbage. And orange too? Yuck!
You don't need to be a teen to enjoy this book. As a male of 50+ years, I found the book quite enjoyable and never dull. I would recommend this book to all.
This book was amazing, I don't even think harry potter can come to match this achievement! Seefer Elliot goes through so many thrilling plot twists, battles, and friendships. Making this book a recommended read for all y young adults, can't wait till his next adventure!
